Scenic Jeep Tours

Picking up our guests at local hotels and motels, Zion Outback Safaris provides scenic jeep tours of the backcountry of Zion National Park and its outskirts. We offer daily, three-hour guided excursions by experienced, knowledgeable guides, who are skilled drivers. They even stop for photo opportunities along the way.

Venturing into Zion’s ruggedly beautiful backcountry on one of our scenic jeep tours relieves you of the stress of driving while providing unique locations for observing the park’s temples of stone and deep chasms, formed by millions of years of water and wind. Iron oxide has colored the sandstone a variety of hues. In some places, layers of porous sandstone allow water to seep through thousands of feet of rock, creating lush hanging gardens in an otherwise desert environment.

During our jeep tours, our guides recount interesting tidbits about the area’s ecosystem, geology, history and wildlife. Guests may catch a glimpse of the park’s wildlife, including golden eagles, roadrunners, peregrine falcons, bighorn sheep, jackrabbits and lizards. The scenic excursions also showcase some of the park’s more than 900 native species of plant life, the greatest botanical diversity in Utah.
